Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Leader with a CDL to join our team. As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for leading a tight-knit crew, creating and promoting a positive team environment, and ensuring the safe and efficient completion of tree trimming, removal, and spraying operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a crew of experienced arborists and tree trimmers
  • Interpret tree trimming and removal orders from General Foreman or customer representatives
  • Plan and layout daily work for the crew, considering factors such as time required to complete work, equipment availability, and weather conditions
  • Perform pre-job hazard surveys and assign work tasks based on individual knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Operate aerial lifts and climb trees to trim and remove branches, as well as remove broken limbs from wires and roofs
  • Prepare, operate, and maintain all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
  • Remove limbs and brush, and dispose of debris
  • Mix and apply spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation
  • Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the working area
Requirements
  • Two years or more experience working as a climber, working around utility lines
  • At least two years of bucket operation experience in and above the power lines
  • Ability to lead people, including strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques
  • Experience in knot tying and PPE
  • Understanding of drawings and symbols representing types of lines, voltage, and line equipment
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more
  • Valid Driver's License; CDL and medical certificate required for the vehicle being operated
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests
