We are seeking a skilled Painter to enhance our operations at Barfield, a respected name in the aviation industry and a subsidiary of Air France Industries KLM Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize various paint types, such as epoxy, zinc chromate, enamel, water-based, and lacquer.
- Wear a respirator mask while handling paints, solvents, or preparing surfaces.
- Adhere to all safety protocols when painting and cleaning.
- Receive training to paint aircraft components according to OEM standards.
- Clean and paint aircraft components following CMM instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness in the paint shop area as necessary.
- Document maintenance activities for cleaning and painting equipment.
- Report chemical spills and assist in containment using provided spill kits.
- Operate and maintain blasting media cabinets to remove corrosion or re-surface aircraft parts (training provided).
- Utilize solvent parts cleaners for cleaning and degreasing aircraft components (training provided).
- Monitor chemical shelf-life and advise on reordering, maintaining cleaning machines, and replacing outdated chemicals.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the shop manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience with air-compressed paint guns.
- Familiarity with solvents and lacquer thinners.
- Ability to obtain respirator certification.
- Proficient in computer data entry.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, utilizing safety equipment.
- Ability to follow FAA-approved documentation such as CMM, EO's, S/B's, etc.
