Job Title: Paraprofessional - K-5th Grade Educator

United Cerebral Palsy of Central Florida Inc is seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraprofessional to join our team at UCP West Orange Campus - Winter Garden, FL.

Job Summary:

The Paraprofessional provides instructional support in a K-12th grade classroom of students with and without disabilities. The Paraprofessional also leads the classroom in the event of a teacher absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement lesson plans, including instructional groups, per teacher's direction.
  2. Assist in planning and developing instructional materials for the classroom.
  3. Administer assessments and progress monitoring.
  4. Document academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
  5. Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques.
  6. Perform teacher duties in the absence of the teacher.
  7. Stay up-to-date on best and promising practices for education.
  8. Provide caretaking and housekeeping duties as needed.
  9. Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
  10. Attend required trainings, meetings, and events.
  11. Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
  12. Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements, and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.

Qualifications:

Education and Training: Associate Degree (or equivalent college credits) in education or a related field. If related field, minimum of 6 Education credits OR Score of 464 or higher on the ETS Parapro test.

Minimum Experience: Experience working in a K-12th grade classroom. Prefer experience working with children with and without special needs in a multi-disciplinary education setting. Experience working with instructional technology preferred.
