Job Overview

The Specialty Lines Actuarial Product division is seeking a skilled Actuary to enhance our capabilities and contribute valuable insights within the Property and Casualty insurance sector. This role is pivotal in driving innovation and refining our Specialty product offerings, including Medical, D&O, EPL, and Professional lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality outcomes promptly while prioritizing customer satisfaction in all tasks.
  • Act as a product authority for the aforementioned Specialty lines.
  • Specifically, you will:
  • Independently spearhead projects aimed at advancing enhancements and innovations in actuarial products and processes for Specialty lines.
  • Work collaboratively with various ISO divisions on new initiatives that may focus on actuarial or underwriting aspects.
  • Conduct actuarial analyses to support, maintain, and improve existing Specialty actuarial products.
  • Play a crucial role in developing a modernized rating framework for both class-rated and specifically rated risks.
  • Leverage your expertise to evaluate market, industry, competitor, legal, and regulatory trends, providing actionable insights that propel the business forward.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies to facilitate the filing of loss cost reviews and new or enhanced products.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related fields.
  • Completion of 2 or more Actuarial Exams.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in leading teams or projects, demonstrating a strong ability to build productive internal and external customer relationships focused on actionable insights and collaborative partnerships.
  • Familiarity with data management principles or insurance data management is advantageous.
  • Experience in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Some knowledge of insurance coverages, actuarial methodologies, and quality assurance practices.
  • Technical skills should include proficiency in MS Office applications and a basic understanding of programming concepts.
  • Knowledge of Python, Jupyter Notebooks, ETL tools, R, SQL, SAS, or Business Rules Engines is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, or COGNOS is beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to manage time effectively, multitask, and adapt plans in response to shifting priorities.
