Piping Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Designer to join our team as a Capital Project Installation Specialist. This role will be responsible for updating and modifying piping layouts and 3D models for piping systems, ensuring compliance with UPS Industrial Standards and client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in the field at a refining facility, with a strong background in AutoCad/CADWorx and laser scan data (point cloud) manipulation. Proficiency in drafting and project organizational skills is also essential for success in this position.

This is a field position that requires the designer to work collaboratively with the site planners and management team to deliver high-quality documentation. The designer must be able to assist the project manager and work with the construction group in maintaining documentation, including As-Built Piping ISO's/redlines and updates to piping/facility model.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of piping design drawings and documents, including piping plans, sections, details, isometrics, P&ID's, and piping specifications. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure high-quality output.

• Update and modify piping layouts and 3D models for piping systems, ensuring compliance with UPS Industrial Standards and client expectations.
• Gather required field information to develop field sketches, performing site visits as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with the site planners and management team to deliver high-quality documentation.
• Assist the project manager in maintaining documentation, including As-Built Piping ISO's/redlines and updates to piping/facility model.
• Develop drawing deliverable packages for submission to clients, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

• 10+ years of experience as a piping designer, with extensive time working in the field at a refining facility.
• Associate's degree in Drafting or Design preferred, but not required; minimum of a high school Diploma is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCad and CADWorx, with experience working with laser scan data (point cloud).
• Strong drafting ability and project organizational skills.
• Experience with piping design drawings and documents, including piping plans, sections, details, isometrics, P&ID's, and piping specifications.
• Attention to detail is a must to ensure high-quality output.

This position offers an estimated salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, benefits include paid time off for holidays and per diem pay for fieldwork.
