Position Overview

The Senior Software Integration Specialist operates under minimal oversight, acting as a technical authority within the IT Division. Key Responsibilities

Software Integration & Development

  • Engage in data integrations requiring proficiency with SOAP and REST APIs, utilizing ETL tools, and managing comprehensive data flows across various applications, databases, platforms, and data warehouses.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and data warehouse personnel to design and implement essential data flow requirements for applications, reports, and integration tasks.
  • Develop and maintain both new and existing applications on LAMP (PHP) platforms using technologies such as Laravel, MySQL, and Bootstrap. Additional competencies should include familiarity with Ajax, JavaScript, Java, Python, Oracle, Docker, and cloud deployments via AWS and Vercel.
  • Coordinate with Information Systems (IS) team members to cultivate and promote new programming and data practices, including peer code reviews, development feedback sessions, and training on emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with IS members to optimize tool usage for code repositories and implement automated testing practices for improved code deployment.
  • Work alongside various staff responsible for identity-related services to ensure they receive necessary data from HR systems for effective employee data management.

Business Process Analysis

  • Possess extensive experience in translating functional requirements into technical specifications for the adoption of commercial software solutions or the design of new applications.
  • Provide alternative solutions or enhancements based on user requirements and existing system knowledge.
  • Anticipate technical needs by understanding the organization and the impact of related tools and data flows on operations.

Project Management

  • Serve as a project manager for projects of varying complexity, from straightforward to highly intricate.
  • Act as a technical expert for large-scale deployments across the organization.
  • Offer technical insights when requested by internal teams or end users.
  • Establish timelines for the development and implementation of assigned projects, partnering with management to allocate resources effectively.
  • Manage multiple projects at different stages, ensuring balanced planning and coordination with IS team members.

System Administration

  • Develop and uphold application and database backup protocols, security measures, and collaborate with management to ensure processes align with business needs.
  • Lead upgrades, patches, and performance tuning in production environments.
  • Monitor application and server performance proactively, providing recommendations for capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with management and IT to ensure optimal system environments for required solutions.
  • Administer Filemaker Pro while transitioning enterprise data sets to alternative solutions.
  • Participate in cloud deployments and related integrations, including vendor interactions and technology evaluations.

Application Support and Testing

  • Provide advanced support for team members regarding applications and data sources.
  • Evaluate collaboration opportunities to enhance application testing and streamline code deployments.
  • Train team members on automated application testing technologies.
  • Respond to end-user issues, ensuring effective communication regarding resolutions.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on project updates and application changes.
  • Relay user support requests to management for appropriate resource allocation.
  • Enhance application testing capabilities for improved release quality.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively complex experience in data integrations, ETL, or data warehousing, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • At least 3 years of experience with standard software testing practices, test automation, and defect tracking.
  • Experience with structured project management methodologies.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or a combination of education and experience. An advanced degree is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $140,000 annually. Compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the scope of responsibilities, candidate qualifications, departmental budget, and market pay for similar roles.
