General Assembly Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves the assembly of metal or plastic products, either partially or fully, on the production floor or at a workstation. The position requires flexibility as employees may be reassigned to different departments or shifts based on operational needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, and management is essential.

SUPERVISION
Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Department Supervisor.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Prior experience in manufacturing is preferred.

TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
No specialized training is required.

EXPERIENCE
Three to six months of related experience or training is preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
No travel is required for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Position components based on knowledge of the assembly unit.
2. Secure parts using bolts, screws, clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
3. Utilize hand tools to refine parts for a precise fit.
4. Operate machinery such as drill presses and riveting machines to facilitate assembly.
5. Monitor machine operations to identify defects or malfunctions.
6. Conduct minor maintenance on machines as needed.
7. Inspect assembled products to ensure they meet specifications.
8. Package items appropriately and ensure correct labeling.
9. Report quality issues to supervisors or quality control personnel.
10. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to safety protocols.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling materials. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels. Hearing protection may be necessary in certain areas.
