Job Overview:

The Electrical Assembly Technician II position involves the assembly of power generation systems, including generators, enclosures, energy storage units, and PECs. This role requires adherence to detailed work instructions derived from engineering schematics to construct power generation systems according to specified designs. The technician will handle electrical wiring and complete electrical terminations during the assembly process. Additionally, they will be responsible for connecting and terminating load cables and other essential components in the manufacturing of power generation systems. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, assembly, or installation of power generation systems; experience in the electrical or mechanical servicing of heavy machinery is also advantageous.

Essential Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, field service, or construction within the energy sector or a related field is preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to read measuring instruments to the nearest 1/16th of an inch is required.
  • Electrical experience is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble intricate electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, bills of materials, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
  • Utilize engineering documents and schematics to guide the assembly of mechanical components and the wiring of control and house power systems.
  • Interpret and understand electrical schematics for both house power and communication wiring, ensuring proper landing and labeling in TCC/ECC and house power panels.
  • Securely mount generators on their skids using appropriate hardware while adhering to torque specifications.
  • Install all necessary stands on the skid (ECC, GBC, SCR, disconnect) and position these components accurately.
  • Connect exhaust components using the correct hardware and gaskets, ensuring all torque requirements are met.
  • Fabricate load cables using the appropriate gauge wire, lugs, and proper crimping techniques.
  • Construct CAN harnesses, fuel lines, and block heater hoses as needed.
  • Install all phases of load cables, bend and install conduit, and assemble complex DEF pumps, solenoids, and DEF systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electrical wire and cable routing, adhering to quality standards in wiring workmanship.
  • Utilize crimping tools, stripping tools, multimeters, and hand tools such as wrenches, ratchets, and torque wrenches effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate daily tasks and align priorities for efficient assembly operations.
  • Exhibit troubleshooting skills, which may include drilling and tapping holes, crimping, securing screws, bolts, and rivets, and mounting control units to ensure proper fit and operation.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new associates on the job.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed based on business requirements.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This role necessitates standing, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity is essential for manipulating tools and small machine components.

The work environment is a general manufacturing setting, which may include areas that are not climate-controlled.
