We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Nurse to join our team at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital. As a Clinical Staff Nurse in our ICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care to a defined group of patients. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans, prioritize and organize patient care, and ensure seamless communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process as a problem-solving model to anticipate and plan to meet patient and family needs.
- Conduct hourly rounding on patients to ensure their comfort and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively using the SBAR method in all hand-off situations.
- Perform documentation of patient care, including assessment, interdisciplinary plan of care, implementation, evaluation, and the Watson Model of Care.
- Anticipate variables affecting patient comfort and alter physical and psychosocial interventions accordingly.
- Assist patients and families to maximize their sense of control and actively participate in their recovery.
- Work with Care Managers to coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning for a specific patient population.
- Review all orders on patients and communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and other team members.
- Associates Degree in Nursing or equivalent required; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in Critical Care nursing.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
- Basic computer skills.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers from the American Heart Association.
- Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
