Job Summary:The Lead Lab Technologist will be responsible for leading and guiding lab technologists, lab assistants, and other laboratory staff in performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures. The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical technology and laboratory operations, with a minimum of six years of relevant clinical experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and guide lab technologists, lab assistants, and other laboratory staff in performing laboratory tests and procedures.
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures relevant to the particular lab.
- Prepare and test specimens for examination and report results.
- Perform all Quality Control procedures, including accumulation and recording of data, and evaluates and documents all corrective action in accordance with established and required policies and procedures.
- Perform routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot basic instrumentation, reagents, technical problems, and methodologies.
- Maintain sufficient supplies at each work station through the inventory control system.
- Assist in in-service training programs, as needed.
- Assist in all bench training in the laboratory.
- Use Infection Control practices and procedures.
- Perform related duties, as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science, or related field, required.
- Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (or as appropriate to area of assignment), required.
- Minimum of six (6) years relevant clinical experience, required.
The salary range for this position is $49.98-$59.52/hour. Northwell Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
