The position may require travel and public speaking engagements.

Our content spans several dynamic sectors, including school bus fleets, vehicle fleets, public safety, law enforcement, and the professional salon industry. Bobit offers a flexible work environment with associates working remotely.

Bobit is currently considering candidates from the following states/areas:
AL, AZ, CA (excluding San Francisco), CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MI, MO, NC, NV, OH, OK, OR, TN, TX, WI

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, write, edit, and produce various content types, both assigned and self-generated, including articles, features, videos, podcasts, photo galleries, webinars, and more.
  • Engage in content planning across digital, print, and social media platforms.
  • Oversee and manage projects such as surveys, awards programs, supplements, and editorial advisory boards.
  • Administer brand social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Collaborate with editorial, design, and media operations teams to manage the production of monthly print issues, ensuring thorough editing and proofreading.
  • Work alongside editors and web teams to oversee digital content, including creating and posting in content management systems, editing submissions, distributing e-newsletters, and analyzing traffic and engagement metrics.
  • Coordinate with the events department for webinars and various events, both in-person and virtual.
  • Attend industry events and press conferences, delivering presentations and speeches as required.
  • Stay informed about industry terminology and trends, maintaining regular communication with readers, industry leaders, and advertisers.
  • Fulfill select public speaking duties, including moderating panels and presenting at conferences.
  • Collaborate with external contributors for columns and freelance content.
  • Embrace new technologies, media platforms, online tools, and workflow methodologies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEO best practices and Google Analytics.
  • Edit and revise press releases as necessary and publish them online.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, media, communications, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in writing and editing for both print and digital formats (experience in B2B media is advantageous).
  • Familiarity with the transportation, trucking, or automotive sectors is a plus.
  • Proven experience in leading a team of creative professionals, both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated excellence in editing, proofreading, interviewing, news reporting, feature writing, and content development.
  • Knowledge of AP style guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of content marketing strategies and SEO best practices.
  • Experience managing social media for a business.
  • Willingness to travel and engage in public speaking.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and its application to content strategies.
  • Basic skills in photo editing.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to drive projects forward to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with designers to create cover concepts.
  • Experience in photography, video production, podcasting, webinars, and event management is preferred.
