Laboratory Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Laboratory Director to lead our team at Assured Testing Laboratories LLC.

Assured Testing Laboratories LLC is an independent, fully licensed testing laboratory located in the Greater Lowell Area of Massachusetts. We strive to be the industry leader in testing in the state of Massachusetts, committed to ensuring the highest quality products for our customers and their customers.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 per year, based on experience.

This role involves managing, recruiting, integrating, and developing high-quality talent that delivers against company goals. You will provide developmental feedback and coaching while encouraging a collaborative environment. Additionally, you will establish, communicate, and manage department, team, and individual performance objectives that are consistent with company goals and maximize individual development goals.

• Manage the recruitment, integration, and development of high-quality talent to achieve company goals.
• Provide regular developmental feedback and coaching to ensure employee growth and success.
• Establish and manage department, team, and individual performance objectives aligned with company goals.
• Direct the training and scheduling of staff to meet company and individual performance objectives.
• Select, propose, implement, and validate new assays for the lab's testing portfolio within six months.
• Optimize current assays to increase throughput and efficiency.
• Select, propose, and implement opportunities to diversify the company's portfolio within one year.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A PhD in chemistry, biology, genomics, microbiology, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in a leadership position.
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
• A thorough understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of document control systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Prior experience in processing plant and biological samples, including extraction and qPCR analysis, is desirable. Additionally, experience with gas and/or liquid chromatography as well as mass spectrometry is preferred.
