- Enhancing family knowledge regarding mental health diagnoses and the recovery process.
- Empowering families with information about available services and supporting them through transitions.
- Recognizing the importance of self-care and maintaining overall family wellness.
- Encouraging self-advocacy for family-driven services and interventions.
- Inspiring hope and progress towards recovery through shared experiences.
- Assisting families in goal-setting and collaborating with treatment teams to achieve those goals.
- Documenting all interventions in accordance with organizational standards.
- Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and other relevant events.
- Completing required reports and paperwork as directed.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Completion of Certified Peer Specialist Parent training approved by relevant authorities within the specified timeframe.
- Personal experience as a parent navigating children's mental health systems.
- Understanding of recovery principles and willingness to assist others in their recovery journeys.
- Ability to connect with youth and families effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
