Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students in a public school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom setting.
  • Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of comprehensive educational strategies.
  • Provide training and support to school staff and parents on speech-language development, strategies, and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Stay current on the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Current Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, proficiency in using assessment tools, therapy materials, and technology, and excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Working Conditions:
  • The role may require travel between different schools within the district.
  • Work environments include classrooms, therapy rooms, and office spaces.
  • The position may involve working with students who have diverse needs, including those with significant communication challenges.
