The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is a US government agency responsible for coordinating disaster response and relief efforts. As a Lead Human Resources Specialist, you will be part of the team that helps ensure continuity and resilience in the face of disasters.
About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Compensation Specialist to join our team in Washington D.C. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of compensation systems, including pay scales, leave policies, and benefits. They will work closely with HR managers to develop and implement compensation strategies that align with FEMA's mission and goals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret compensation data to inform decision-making on pay scales, bonuses, and other incentives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with HR stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of compensation policies.
- Collaborate with payroll specialists to resolve issues related to pay, leave, and benefits.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on compensation-related matters.
- Stay up-to-date on changing regulations and laws affecting compensation practices.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in compensation analysis, management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of federal compensation systems, including GS pay scales and leave policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
