Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified professionals. This role will be responsible for leading the Software Configuration Management team in developing, enforcing, and maintaining Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes on large- and small-scale programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
  • Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.
  • Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database, or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development.
  • Design and implement build procedures that are used to support software product development and use.
  • Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
  • Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
  • Support senior manager in executing the strategy to motivate and ensure a high-performing engineering team.
  • Manage the workload of employees and balance employee needs with business goals.
  • Apply sound software engineering principles, metrics, and ensure compliance with all published processes and standards in technical solutions.
  • Manage the staffing profile for a software team of 12+ Software engineers and/or Modeling & Simulation engineers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field with 9 years of Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience, or Master's with 7 years of Computer Engineering or Software Engineering, or PhD with 4 years of Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience.
  • Must have experience with coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery.
  • Understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices, and standards is required.
  • Must have knowledge of scripting languages.
  • Experience with multiple tools and environments (Git, Bitbucket, Jira, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Linux, and Windows).
  • Experience with one or more Software languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with implementing SCM on a large-scale program.
  • Experience with configuration and administration of DevOps tools, CI/CD concepts, and automated build pipelines.
  • Experience in development and maintenance of Jenkins Pipelines & scripts.
