Position Overview:

The Airfreight Supervisor will oversee the operational activities and manage the daily functions of the ECU Worldwide USA operations team. This role requires a leader who can inspire and guide the team, ensuring that all members are well-informed and performing at an optimal level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of quality and efficiency through ongoing training, motivation, and coaching of team members.
  • Handle the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of employees, including operations coordinators and customer service personnel.
  • Supervise and mentor staff in alignment with the organization’s objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete supervisory tasks promptly and thoroughly.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and provide updates to senior management.
  • Work closely with the USA Operations Manager and Regional Sales Manager to support and enhance sales growth.
  • Monitor and manage office expenditures effectively.
  • Delegate tasks, evaluate performance, and implement recognition and disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Plan staff schedules and approve overtime and leave requests.
  • Negotiate contracts with airlines and trucking companies.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the company's product offerings.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding staff and management matters.
  • Conduct monthly formal staff meetings to ensure clear communication.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the airfreight sector.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities and vision in managing teams and significant projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative management approach.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and promoting a diverse workplace.
  • Effective people management skills with a focus on collaboration and task completion.
  • Able to critically assess and discuss important organizational issues.
  • Capable of analyzing situations from multiple perspectives.
  • Detail-oriented and persuasive in presenting facts.
  • Skilled in delegating responsibilities efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in a diverse environment.
  • Possession of Hazmat / IMO certification.
  • Ability to prepare or supervise the construction of ULDs.
