Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students. Utilize a range of diagnostic tools and observational methods to gather comprehensive data.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to develop a complete understanding of each student's communication abilities and challenges.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the educational team, including teachers, school counselors, and parents.
- Set clear, achievable goals for each student's speech and language development and design personalized intervention strategies to meet those goals.
- Therapeutic Interventions:
- Provide direct therapy services to students to address articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and social communication skills.
- Use evidence-based practices and customized therapeutic activities to support individual needs and enhance classroom engagement.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals to integrate therapy goals into daily classroom activities and support students' communication needs.
- Offer guidance and training to teachers and staff on strategies to support students with speech and language disorders.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Prepare detailed reports for IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school evaluations, ensuring all documentation is thorough and meets regulatory standards.
- Family and Community Engagement:
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies to support communication development at home.
- Participate in school and community events to raise awareness of speech and language development and advocate for students' needs.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology.
- Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Colorado. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience: Experience working in a school setting or with children is highly desirable. New graduates with strong clinical training and a passion for educational settings are also encouraged to apply.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
