Firefighter Apprenticeship Program

The City of Corvallis, OR is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our Firefighter Apprenticeship Program. As a Firefighter Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in firefighting, emergency medical services, and fire prevention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as a member of a fire/rescue/EMS team
  • Operate firefighting, hazardous material, and emergency vehicles and equipment
  • Perform fire suppression, hazardous material recognition, and emergency medical duties
  • Assist with preparation of pre-hospital care and case documentation
  • Maintain required records and reports
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Oregon State Police Criminal Justice Information Systems clearance
  • Valid Oregon driver's license with a minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of duties in accordance with NFPA Standard 1582
