Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, leading a team of nurses, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and supervision to a team of nurses, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, individualized care to patients and their families.
  • Lead and manage the clinical unit, including organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the work of the nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of new nursing staff, ensuring that they are equipped to provide excellent patient care.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the unit's quality and performance improvement plan, ensuring that we meet or exceed regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to regulatory standards and promoting a culture of safety and respect.
  • Act as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to provide excellent patient care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete a degree program within 5 years of their hire date)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Medical / Surgical /Telemetry nursing with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice; minimum one (1) year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
  • Current California Nursing license
  • Certification in Medical / Surgical Nursing preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred
