The Beaufort County School District is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with students, teachers, and administrators to provide support and services to students with special needs.

Salary:

$51,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and education.

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Behavioral Support Specialist. In this position, you will be responsible for providing behavioral support and interventions to students in various settings, including classrooms and community locations. Your primary goal will be to help students develop skills and strategies to manage their behavior and achieve academic success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct support to students with behavioral challenges
  • Developing and implementing behavioral intervention plans
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure consistent implementation of plans
  • Maintaining accurate records and data on student progress

You will also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and crisis intervention.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
