Position Summary:
The Credentialing Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining quality assurance within the organization. This position is responsible for the meticulous preparation and upkeep of reports related to credentialing activities, including accreditation and facility privileges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all credentialing information adheres to legal, federal, and state regulations during the application process.
- Execute various credentialing tasks for physicians and allied health professionals.
- Process applications for initial candidates and reappointments on a quarterly basis.
- Collect and manage substantial verification and accreditation data.
- Maintain and update precise information in the Echo database, encompassing education, training, experience, and licensure.
- Prepare documentation for Credentials Committee meetings, Medical Executive Committee (MEC), and Board of Trustees meetings.
- Establish and maintain provider profiles in the Echo system.
- Uphold the confidentiality of provider information at all times.
- Ensure compliance with organizational Bylaws concerning the credentialing process.
- Schedule and occasionally attend site-based medical staff department meetings, taking minutes as necessary.
- Process and collect dues for site-based medical staff.
- Compile and maintain accurate and current data for all providers.
- Track license and certification expiration dates for all providers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the credentialing process is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Proficient in researching and analyzing data.
- Ability to work independently and establish effective working relationships.
- Exceptional computer skills are required.
