Rochester Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician I to join our team. As an Engineering Technician I, you will work closely with Process Engineers and other Engineering Technicians to develop and maintain manufacturing techniques and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Process Engineers to establish high-yielding, cost-effective processes based on product needs and customer requirements.
- Set up and operate equipment, optimize recipes, and perform set-ups and changeovers with minimal assistance.
- Assist and train operators on equipment and recipe-related issues with minimal outside assistance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve intermediate process-related issues with some oversight.
- Execute the design of experiments (DOE) and gather data for analysis with direction from Process Engineers.
- Ensure compliance to Company policies, operating procedures, quality standards, processes, and task assignments.
- Implement process improvements to increase the cost-effectiveness of manufacturing and scrap reduction with direction from Process Engineers.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of coworkers, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- An associate degree in engineering or a related technical field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant engineering or semiconductor assembly experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001, and EIA/JEDEC standards.
- Demonstrable electro-mechanical aptitude and proven ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor with some degree of autonomy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Ability to prioritize assigned projects effectively.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and diverse business environment.
- Understanding of work environment issues (i.e. basic OSHA regulations, etc.).
