We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Family Advocate to join our team at the Boys & Girls Club of Whittier. As a Child and Family Advocate, you will play a vital role in addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of members through individualized care, counseling, and connection to community services.

The successful candidate will have an earned master's degree in social work and at least one year of employment in the field of social work while under supervision and working with school-age children. A valid license as a clinical social worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or immediate registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker upon date of hire is also required.

This position offers a competitive salary of $75,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with the partnering school district to identify students who are not attending school or participating in their learning program regularly and perform a comprehensive needs assessment.
  • Collaborate with the district to create and maintain a database of identified students that can be used to monitor weekly progress.
  • Perform home visits to assess barriers affecting the student's attendance/participation in school.
  • Provide consultation, training, and technical assistance to families to ensure students have the necessary tools and environment to participate in learning activities.
