SAIC is in search of a Systems Engineer to deliver Class Desk support for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) initiatives within PMA 299, specifically for the H-60 Multi-Mission helicopter Program Office at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). This role offers the flexibility of hybrid remote work, requiring on-site presence a few days each week. The selected candidate will provide engineering assistance to multiple FMS teams while directly supporting the FMS Class Desk APMSE and associated teams. This includes interfacing with all teams and offering technical guidance to the FMS collective.
This position necessitates a hybrid work model, with on-site responsibilities in California, MD for 2-3 days weekly. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. An Interim Secret clearance is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute technical insights in the formulation and evaluation of all engineering documentation (e.g., SOW, CDRL, technical proposals, SETR planning, technical maturity) ensuring accuracy and compliance with FMS Case requirements.
- Facilitate SETR events with contractors as designated by the APMSE.
- Organize meetings as necessary, requiring participation from contractors and/or the domestic PMA team.
- Engage in PMRs, technical reviews, coordination meetings, Test Planning Working Groups (TPWG), CSWG, System Safety Working Group (SSWG), Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), and other significant program activities as required.
- Review, analyze, and monitor specifications and data packages; assess suitability/supportability documentation; provide technical recommendations on ECPs and Technical Directives; and participate in technical working groups to address engineering challenges. Assist in the creation of relevant engineering documentation, formal letters, informal memos, and other correspondence.
- Enhance communication across all stakeholders (PMA IPTs, FMS, USN, Contractor, FST, etc.).
- Maintain unique schedules or action trackers as dictated by the APMSE.
- Some international travel may be necessary.
Qualifications
Essential Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific field, accompanied by nine (9) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience. Alternatively, four (4) additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Capability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance.
- Experience in supporting foreign military sales (FMS) or engineering leadership roles.
- Familiarity with NAVAIR's Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), Systems Engineering Transformation (SET) initiatives, Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) processes, and Airworthiness/Cybersafe protocols.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience in Systems Engineering APMSE support is advantageous.
- DAWIA Systems Engineering certification is a plus.
