Transforming Patient Care in Obstetrics

At Mercy, we're committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients. As an Obstetrics Nurse in our Labor and Delivery department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability for the assigned patients.
  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information, performing duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Requirements:

  • Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
  • One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, BLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM, and other unit-specific certifications as required.
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis, as well as prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
