Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience.

Job Description

As an Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out general labor responsibilities efficiently and effectively. Your tasks may include:

  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of commodities handled at the location and adhering to company policy and government regulations.
  • Working with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Preparing trucks for loading/unloading, which may involve sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
  • Loading and unloading agricultural inputs from trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment.
  • Controlling and monitoring all load-out functions.
  • Understanding and operating automated scale/dump systems.
  • Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubricating pumps, valves, and loading arms.
  • Inspecting equipment for seeps and leaks and maintaining quality of inventory.
  • Keeping work areas clean, orderly, and safe.
  • Completing regular housekeeping duties such as sweeping, shoveling, power washing, scraping, and cleaning up spills.
  • Reporting customer complaints, repair/maintenance needs, or safety concerns to your supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Able to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, and tractors.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Agriculture experience a plus.
