Cardiology Specialist

As an integral member of the CAMC Health System, the Interventional Cardiologist will deliver expert evaluation and treatment services to patients, adhering to the stipulations of the employment agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients within the cardiology domain, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of medical practice. This care will be provided in suitable environments and coordinated with the existing medical staff at each location. The physician will oversee all patient care matters and will be accountable for the results of each patient interaction.
- Exhibit current technical, medical, and service proficiency through initial orientation, provisional assessments, and ongoing evaluations to confirm the ability to utilize the full range of privileges in cardiology.
- Display competency in additional responsibilities and professional duties as outlined in the position description and in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Show a commitment to reviewing practice-related data from the National Cardiac Data Registry (NCDR) and other clinical quality initiatives to enhance processes and outcomes, fostering continuous learning and improvement in care delivery.
For positions involving direct patient interaction, the employee must acquire and demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate assessment, treatment, or care as determined by the department's specified patient demographics.
Competency Statement: The employee must validate competency through initial orientation and ongoing assessments to independently execute tasks and additional responsibilities as specified in the job description and the unit/department-specific competency checklist.
Common Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain and document all required educational credentials.
- Foster positive customer service and collaborative relationships with colleagues.
- Adhere to the organization's attendance policies.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department and institution.
- Conduct work in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform duties in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling guidelines, including but not limited to, overtime, shift work, and on-call responsibilities.
- Align work with the overall mission and strategic objectives of the organization.
- Follow all organizational and departmental policies and procedures as applicable.
- Undertake related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
- Medical Degree (Mandatory)
Qualifications:
Doctorate Degree in Medicine, Board Certification in the relevant specialty. Experience: Relevant experience as required to meet eligibility and quality standards for maintaining privileges to provide contracted cardiology services. The employee will maintain active status regarding clinical privileges.
