Job Title: Memory Care Activities Assistant

At Kensington Senior Living, LLC, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Memory Care Activities Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our life enrichment program, you will play a vital role in creating a engaging and meaningful experience for our residents.

Job Summary:

The Memory Care Activities Assistant will assist the Memory Care Activities Coordinator in planning, developing, and implementing activities that cater to the interests and needs of our residents. This includes leading group activities, preparing rooms and equipment, and documenting attendance records.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and implementing activities that promote physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of residents.
  • Lead group activities, including one-on-one and small, medium, and large group sessions.
  • Prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies for activities and clean up afterwards.
  • Encourage resident and family participation in activities and transport residents as needed.
  • Assist with documentation, including daily attendance records and monthly activity calendars.
  • Assist with media correspondence, mailings, newsletters, bulletin boards, and displays.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities programs and individual needs of residents.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a senior living community, either through volunteering or professional experience.
  • Ability to think creatively and plan engaging activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Property Management System.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar position in senior living, nursing homes, or adult day care.
  • Ability to clearly and proficiently communicate with people of all ages and abilities.
  • Ability to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance and follow the dress code.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk short and long distances for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms above, below, and at shoulder length.
  • Ability to talk and hear, with specific vision abilities required, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and push a minimum of 200 pounds over a distance of 200 feet.
  • Ability to remain calm and positive in stressful situations.
