Healthcare Receptionist and Language Specialist

Position Summary: The Medical Receptionist/Translator plays a crucial role in performing various administrative and clerical tasks while delivering exceptional customer service. This position is integral to our team, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of patient intake, maintain electronic patient records, and process payments in accordance with clinic policies.
- Assist in maintaining the reception area and overall cleanliness of the clinic as required.
- Ensure confidentiality of all patient information by securing computer systems and logging off devices when not in use.
- Document patient inquiries and relay them to the appropriate healthcare providers or staff members.
- Facilitate the completion of necessary forms and obtain required signatures.
- Collect, verify, and accurately input demographic information to ensure efficient processing through the revenue cycle.
- Confirm the correct insurance payer and plan details are entered into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Scan and organize all registration and clinical documents, maintaining comprehensive medical records.
- Manage the cash drawer in compliance with established policies.
- Handle outgoing mail and necessary documentation for clients or designated parties, as well as incoming mail distribution.
- Receive and distribute deliveries, including mail from various carriers, to the appropriate departments.
- Provide translation services as needed.
Qualifications and Educational Background:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience in an administrative role with a focus on customer service is preferred; experience in a clinical environment is a plus.
- Skills: Strong understanding of professional customer service principles. Training in record management and infection control is advantageous. Proficient in basic computer operations and software applications, with a willingness to learn new systems.
- Language Proficiency: Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken language. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
