Pharmacist (Part Time) - NHS Management Services

To provide high-quality pharmaceutical services to long-term-care and institutionalized residents, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities include participating in and overseeing workflow for the dispensing of medication in accordance with all state and federal regulations, as well as Senior Care Pharmacy policy.
Ensures that medications provided to residents are safe, accurate, and available in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, route of administration, potential drug interactions, special geriatric considerations, warnings/precautions associated with prescribed medication, potential adverse reactions, and stability.
- Suggest therapeutic intervention based on SCP Formulary to physician and/or to nursing staff where appropriate.
- Collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide quality pharmacy services.
- Procures and maintains all required documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as SCP policy.
- Ensures accuracy of filled medications.
- Provides Clinical expertise by responding professionally to medication-related questions.
- Assists the Director of Pharmacy Operations with instructing, directing, and overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff.
- Follows current guidelines for preparing all compounds, including I.V. therapy.
- Understand and follow SCP Policy and Procedures.
- Take On-Call responsibilities on a routine basis.
Requirements
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protected.
- Support the Mission, Values, and Vision of Senior Care Pharmacy.
- Report to Management immediately all instances of misappropriation/handling of company resources.
- Support, cooperate with, and implement specific procedures and programs for maintaining confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee, and operations data, safety and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs, compliance with all regulatory requirements, compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from harassment, and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
- Support and participate in common teamwork: cooperate and work together with all co-workers, plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment, use tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations, follow up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns, promote positive public relations with residents and family members, complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
- Provide great customer service to internal and external customers: promote positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests, support Senior Care Pharmacy in a friendly, courteous, and cooperative manner.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA Privacy and Security.
