Job Summary:

Optum is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health and specialty pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff.
  • Prescription Filling: Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist.
  • Inventory Management: Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies, and verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records.
  • Communication: Communicate with solid professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with the Pharmacist to ensure the pharmacy functions and keeps the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform various clerical duties relating to the department.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR 6+ months of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Ohio.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for hours per day.
  • Transportation: Access to reliable transportation.
  • Availability: Ability to work Sundays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification: National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Experience: Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience.
