Job Summary

The Mortgage Loan Officer provides a full range of banking services to customers with an emphasis on retail banking products - Mortgage Loan. Under the guidance of the Branch Manager, this role focuses on providing exceptional service in the areas of sales and service, while actively cross-selling additional business products such as loans and cash management products through referrals. The successful candidate will develop and maintain relationships with ICBC customers to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow through with borrowers, loan processors, and underwriting through all phases of the underwriting process.
  • Manage good relationships with existing customers, including cross-selling of additional bank products.
  • Collect and analyze borrower and property financial information, including tax returns and rent rolls, to determine the property's debt-carrying ability and the borrower's capacity to repay.
  • Assist in new account opening and support branch operations.
Requirements
  • Basic math and accounting skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding when dealing with problems.
  • Bilingual-English and Mandarin is a must, Cantonese is preferred.
  • Customer orientation, with the ability to follow up with customers outside of bank office hours.
  • NMLS certification is a must, and previous mortgage loan experience is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of the local and China financial system.
  • Real estate agent/broker network is highly preferred.
