Position Summary: We are in search of a Systems Integration Engineer to enhance our vibrant team, contributing to vital projects within the intelligence sector.
Role Description:
The selected candidate will be instrumental in supporting the enhancement of capabilities within a sophisticated system characterized by stringent interface, performance, and security standards. Responsibilities will encompass providing engineering expertise across various domains, including architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design/implementation, testing, and documentation. The candidate will assess user requirements, system architecture, and specifications, delivering systems engineering proficiency while crafting architectural and design documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide and support the engineering of extensive systems, significant system components, and interconnected systems within a complex network landscape featuring geographically dispersed elements.
- Collaborate with program management, system and software integration engineers, testing engineers, information assurance specialists, and other project team members in an Agile framework to ensure requirements fulfillment and issue resolution.
- Apply systems engineering methodologies to guarantee appropriate engineering rigor across all assigned tasks.
- Engage in effective communication and collaboration with internal technical experts daily, as well as with points of contact from client organizations when necessary.
- Actively participate in Program Increment Planning and related Agile team initiatives.
- A minimum of three years of experience in designing and developing large, integrated complex systems.
- Experience in requirements verification traceability.
- Proficiency in analyzing user requirements, system architecture, and/or system specifications.
- A solid understanding of secure systems engineering and development practices.
- Some experience in software development or shell scripting, detailed software design, and/or software/system testing.
- Demonstrated expertise in several areas, including system architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow design/analysis, network design/implementation, testing, and technical documentation.
- Comfortable managing multiple systems and components concurrently in various configurations.
- Familiarity with systems engineering activities supporting Agile teams.
- Commitment to adopting and adhering to best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively plan and prioritize tasks while clearly communicating technical options and trade-offs.
- Capable of delivering high-quality work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to support occasional short-term travel as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field, with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
- Experience in transitioning legacy systems to new architectures.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering is a plus.
- Experience with Risk Management/Risk Register is advantageous.
- Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology or as a member of an Agile team.
- Experience in developing technical documentation.
