The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Injury Claims Examiner to join our team. As a dedicated professional, you will be responsible for adjusting complex bodily injury claims and UIM claims, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations. Your expertise will be essential in delivering exceptional member service, setting clear expectations, and providing proactive communications, advice, and empathy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjust complex bodily injury claims with significant demonstrable injuries and UIM claims, as well as all auto physical damage associated with those claims.
  • Investigate loss details, determine legal liability, evaluate, negotiate, and arrive at claim settlement within appropriate authority guidelines.
  • Clearly document thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement decisions.
  • Prioritize and manage assigned claims workload to keep members and other involved parties informed, providing timely claims status updates.
  • Collaborate and support team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate matters for escalation.
  • Partner and/or direct vendors and internal business partners to facilitate timely claims resolution.
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced team members on complex claims.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 4+ years of casualty adjusting experience
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the auto claims contract as well as application of case law and state laws and regulations
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and designated number of attempts
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience handling UM/UIM injury claims
  • 2+ years of catastrophic injury experience
  • Experience adjusting injury claims in Missouri
  • Injury experience in various states
  • College Degree (Bachelors or higher)
  • Insurance Designation
