DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Process Specialist and Engineering team on technical training, problem resolution, waste reduction, quality enhancement, and production optimization.
- Create and update work instructions as necessary and provide training to team members.
- Oversee all setups and ensure adherence to specifications during product startups and transitions.
- Engage in daily pre-shift ergonomic exercises and kickoff meetings.
- Ensure timely and efficient handoffs of repairs to and from maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all tooling, including mold wheels, and ensure proper storage.
- Safely install all tooling as required.
- Make minor process adjustments and communicate changes to the shift lead or process specialist.
- Conduct line audits to verify optimal performance of production lines.
- Accountable for the accuracy of Production Reports and Quality Documentation.
- Monitor equipment performance and take necessary actions when issues arise.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the lead promptly.
- Adhere to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedules to guarantee reliable equipment performance.
- Strive to meet all Safety, Quality, Production, and Scrap targets.
- Perform product inspections to uphold established quality standards.
- Maintain 5S standards in the assigned area according to site requirements (ensuring tools are organized, trash is disposed of, and workspaces are kept clean and orderly).
- Collaborate with team members including Team Leads, Machine Operators, Maintenance Technicians, and Process Engineers.
- Engage in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce waste, including refining work instructions and training.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety protocols, policies, and practices.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Technical vocational training is preferred.
- Proficiency in the English language is desired.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in the extrusion or plastics processing sector is preferred.
- Effective communication skills with team leads and supervisors are essential for coordinating production efforts.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows, are required.
- Strong organizational skills are necessary; logs, checklists, and inspection records must be maintained in an orderly and legible manner.
- A high sense of urgency is needed to escalate potential Safety, Process, and Quality concerns.
- Promote a positive attitude towards Safety practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
