Position Summary
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of material handling systems. This role requires a hands-on approach using various tools to ensure optimal equipment performance. Ideal candidates will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, a solid foundation in electronics, and familiarity with software systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair equipment to ensure continuous production.
- Install and configure new machinery.
- Communicate effectively with clients to diagnose issues.
- Complete detailed field service reports.
- Keep clients updated on repair progress and address any inquiries.
- Collaborate with management and team members to resolve equipment performance challenges.
- Submit weekly timecards and expense reports accurately.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Proficient in PC applications, including Word, Excel, and Windows OS.
- Strong customer service skills are essential.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds independently.
- Physical capability to navigate job sites, including confined spaces.
Work Environment
The position is based in a warehouse setting, where physical demands include lifting heavy components and maneuvering around equipment. The technician will be required to perform tasks that involve squatting, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
