Position Summary:

We are in search of a meticulous and proactive Automated Paint Systems Technician to enhance our Top-Coat Paint operations. This role involves overseeing and documenting process parameters, ensuring compliance with specifications. The technician will validate that system startup parameters align with required standards through both visual inspections and digital data logging. Exceptional teamwork and communication skills are crucial for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master the operation of the complete paint system, which includes the conveyor mechanism, power washing, drying ovens, style/panel detection zones, both manual and automated paint booths, baking ovens, paint mixing areas, and unloading sections.
  • Skilled in the use and upkeep of various painting equipment, including automatic, manual, and spot painting devices.
  • Supervise robotic painting processes to guarantee optimal application and perform quality assurance evaluations.
  • Continuously assess and modify operational parameters on the paint line to sustain peak performance.
  • Promptly identify and rectify any disruptions in the process, collaborating effectively with production team members and leadership.
  • Monitor paint and solvent usage, manage FIFO inventory, and validate paint batches.
  • Engage with clients and suppliers as necessary.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to the painting process.
  • Assist in training fellow associates on painting techniques and equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate new materials and innovations.
  • Operate systems efficiently to reduce downtime and enhance productivity.
  • Execute additional tasks as directed by the Paint Manager.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must effectively fulfill each essential duty. The qualifications outlined below represent the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, along with 3-5 years of experience in paint operations or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
