We are seeking a seasoned professional to assume the role of Associate Vice President of Facilities Management and Planning at Passaic County Community College. This position will oversee all Plant Operations, including Buildings and Grounds and Mechanical Services for our multi-campus institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management strategy in alignment with other operational departments, ensuring seamless integration and optimal resource allocation.
- Provide strategic oversight for Facilities Management and Planning functions, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
- Communicate effectively with the campus community on facilities-related matters, fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration.
- Manage capital projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budgets, and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and standards at all levels, maintaining a culture of regulatory excellence.
- Contribute to the development of a college-wide Master Plan, aligning with institutional goals and objectives.
- Supervise maintenance tracking and reporting initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Offer executive guidance to campus administrators, providing strategic counsel and support.
- Plan for new constructions and renovations across multiple campuses, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
- Collaborate on Plant Operations budgets and resource allocation, optimizing resource utilization and minimizing waste.
- Maintain and enhance services offered across all campuses, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Establish preventative maintenance programs for College property and equipment, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
- Supervise Plant Operations staff selection, training, and evaluation, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure campus safety and compliance with laws and standards, maintaining a culture of risk management and mitigation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Administration, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as facilities management, engineering, or architecture.
- Minimum five years of supervisory experience in physical plant management, with a proven track record of success.
- At least ten years of management experience in facilities and infrastructure, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Licensure as a professional engineer or architect is preferred, but not required.
