We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Laborer to join our team at the Training, Rehabilitation & Development Institute. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of our industrial, commercial, and public properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property, including buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and athletic fields.
  • Repair structures and equipment, performing tasks such as cutting grass, trimming hedges, and edging around curbs and walkways.
  • Perform snow removal and ice control on walk areas around buildings, sidewalks, steps, and parking areas to ensure personnel and equipment safety.
  • Plant grass, flowers, and shrubs, water lawns and shrubs during dry periods, and pick up and burn or cart away leaves and litter.
  • Assist in fertilizing or herbicide lawn, shrubs, and trees using ground spreaders or sprayers.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to work well within a team environment with a customer-focused approach and aptitude for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • High school education or GED.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience within a commercial grounds keeping environment.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to effectively work with other team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
