Position Overview

The Inventory Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role within the Campbell Soup Company's Supply Chain Accounting & Control team. This position is responsible for overseeing inventory accounting and controls across various manufacturing and distribution facilities within a designated region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze transactions throughout the supply chain to ensure accuracy and facilitate timely error resolution.
  • Coordinate annual inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and providing training to warehouse staff.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies effectively.
  • Establish and maintain compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare journal entries related to inventory accounting, including reserves and accruals.
  • Engage in monthly closing activities for the assigned plants.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on SAP inventory transactions and data integrity.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects.
  • Support future system upgrades and integration efforts.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.

Experience: 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred, with knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations.

Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail are essential.

Preferred Qualifications: CPA certification, familiarity with SAP and Oracle systems, and prior experience in a manufacturing environment are advantageous.

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel may be necessary.
