Abacus is seeking a skilled Software Engineer 2 to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating continued modernization development activities for our complex casework management system.
The ideal candidate will have experience in software engineering, MuleSoft development, and programming in Java/J2EE. They will also have experience with enterprise application integration development, RAM/YAML, REST APIs, and developing large-scale integration and API solutions in MuleSoft.
The Software Engineer 2 will work closely with technical teams to facilitate meetings, elicit project details, and document requirements for development projects. They will also work in concert with technical leads to prioritize assigned work and develop recommendations, options, and alternatives as required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and developing low-level design documents, contributing to software engineering best practices, and implementing MuleSoft components with DataWeave and RAML for integrations flows, APIs, and data transformation.
They will also perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, test case automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment. Additionally, they will identify, investigate, and resolve production problems in a timely manner.
The Software Engineer 2 will be required to work outside of normal business hours on weekends, evenings, and holidays as requested. Payment for work over 40 hours will be at the hourly rate quoted and must be coordinated and pre-approved through Abacus.
Key Responsibilities- Define and develop low-level design documents
- Contribute to software engineering best practices

- Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and test case automation

- 7 years of professional experience in software engineering
- 7 years of experience in MuleSoft development
- 7 years of experience with programming in Java/J2EE
- 6 years of experience in enterprise application integration development
- 6 years of experience with RAM/YAML, REST APIs
- 5 years of experience in developing large-scale integration and API solutions in MuleSoft
- 5 years of experience with creating best practices documents and reusable templates on MuleSoft
