Job Title: Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to utilize their expertise in accounting and finance, while playing a crucial role in our financial operations.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, financial reporting, and conducting both month-end and year-end close processes. In addition, the candidate will be involved in financial analysis, variance analysis, audit and compliance, CAPEX reporting, and fixed assets.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries.
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and anomalies in financial data.
  • Conduct variance analysis to understand the company's financial performance and identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements, and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and reports.
  • Prepare and manage CAPEX reporting, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of capital expenditures.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation schedules.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and accurate financial reporting.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as needed, providing financial expertise and insights.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the manufacturing or food processing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, but also comfortable working in a team environment.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
