As a Nursing Staff Educator, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and enhance educational programs within the nursing department.
Qualifications & Experience:
A nursing degree from an accredited institution is required. A valid, unrestricted RN license in the state is mandatory. CPR certification is essential. A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory nursing experience in a long-term care setting is necessary. At least one (1) year of experience in staff education is required. Experience in supervision and educational methodologies is preferred.Key Responsibilities:
Ensure comprehensive orientation is conducted for all new staff members. Facilitate job-specific orientation for nursing staff and certified nursing assistants. Design and implement educational programs tailored to identified needs to enhance staff knowledge and skills. Create and distribute annual and monthly training calendars. Maintain a repository of resource materials and self-study programs for staff. Accurately and promptly maintain staff development records. Conduct training sessions as required by the organization. Foster effective communication and a positive work environment. Promote constructive relationships with residents and their families. Exhibit strong leadership capabilities.Additional Requirements:
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required. Ability to make independent decisions when necessary is essential. Must be able to interact tactfully with staff, residents, families, visitors, and regulatory agencies. Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as relevant laws and regulations, is crucial. Familiarity with privacy regulations and the ability to train staff accordingly is required. Strong leadership and supervisory skills are necessary, along with a collaborative spirit. Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret necessary programs and policies for quality care is essential. Patience, tact, a positive attitude, and enthusiasm are important, especially when dealing with challenging situations. Willingness to explore and integrate new methods and principles into nursing practices is expected. Effective communication skills in emergency situations are required. Comprehensive assessment skills to uphold nursing standards are necessary.About Athena Health Care Systems:
