Position Overview

Teaching Environment

Instruction will take place in clinical settings, collaborating closely with our clinical partners.

Schedule

Typical shifts consist of 12-hour rotations (7a-7p) for three to four consecutive days every six to seven weeks.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical instruction aligned with the College's educational philosophy and curriculum objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of your teaching responsibilities autonomously.
  • Design and oversee clinical experiences, providing direct supervision and assessment of nursing students as they deliver patient care.
  • Maintain open communication with clinical staff and students.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback based on established course objectives.
  • Offer additional support and remediation to students as necessary.
  • Stay informed about agency policies and procedures with assistance from clinical personnel.
  • Create and assign clinical tasks that reflect students' knowledge and skill levels.
  • Timely review and return student assignments, tests, and other coursework.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the College's programs and initiatives.
  • May assist in teaching theoretical course content under the guidance of a course coordinator.
  • Keep the course coordinator updated on student and agency matters.
  • Collaborate with college administration and faculty to enhance overall operations and student satisfaction.
  • Engage in the College Assessment Program and support campus retention initiatives.
  • Serve as a professional role model in areas such as collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
  • Utilize effective relationship-building skills in collaborative problem-solving situations.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Report to the dean or assistant dean, with direct oversight from a course coordinator.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing practice experience as a registered nurse within the last five years.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Professional Nurse licensure is mandatory in the state of practice.
  • Illinois nursing license must be obtained prior to accepting any clinical assignments.

Compensation Information

In alignment with pay transparency regulations, the anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, contingent upon the candidate's qualifications and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as course type, experience, geographic location, and departmental budgets.
