Job Summary:The Commercial Electrical Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the installation, alteration, addition, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials on construction projects. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to mentor and develop journeyman and foremen.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and coordinate with subcontractors, schedules, and safety protocols
- Coordinate with clients, subs, foremen, architects, engineers, and city inspectors
- Supervise large crews efficiently and effectively
- Calculate material and labor needs for projects
- Approve timesheets, change orders, and other paperwork as required
- Communicate with foremen, superintendents, project managers, office personnel, and other project stakeholders
- Working knowledge of electrical principles and codes
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints
- Assist in moving heavy electrical equipment
- Work at heights using extension ladders, scaffolds, and scissor lifts
- Wear personal protective equipment at all times
- Point of contact for general contractor's field superintendent
- Possess complete knowledge of project drawings, specifications, construction schedules, and electrical equipment submittals
- Responsible for managing and training job site field personnel
- Responsible for providing a safe workplace for all employees
- Responsible for the complete field execution of construction and performance of electrical contract work
- Responsible for tracking job site materials and tools
- Responsible for scheduling and conducting job site inspections, testing, and owner training
- Promote company reputation
- Install electrical equipment designed on engineered drawings
- 15 years of experience in the electrical field
- 10 years of experience as an electrical foreman
- Minimum 10 years of experience with dry utility new construction projects
- 10 years of experience with various lighting control systems
- Experience managing multiple crews of 5-15+ electricians
- Valid CA General Electrician Certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Driver License
- Fluent in speaking and writing in English
- Proficient in computer knowledge and ability to navigate in Outlook, Excel, and Procore
- Availability to work weekends as needed
- OSHA 30 Card
- Good interaction skills and ability to work as a team
- Great attitude
