Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real Estate Attorney to join our team at the Department of Fish and Wildlife. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance on complex real property-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on real property-related matters, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex agreements and contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including the California Endangered Species Act.
  • Work closely with senior management and other stakeholders to develop and implement real estate-related policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and advise junior attorneys on real estate-related matters.
  • Facilitate monthly conservation easement and real estate meetings within the Office of General Counsel.
Requirements
  • Must be a licensed attorney in the State of California.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This position will be located in Sacramento and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule depending on operational needs. Occasional travel may be required within the state of California via private or public transportation.
