Parking Enforcement Officer Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Parking Enforcement Officer to join our team at SP+. As a Parking Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with parking policies and regulations in designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public, answering questions and providing directions as needed.
  • Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance with parking policies, using a computerized handheld device or manual tickets.
  • Impound, boot, or relocate vehicles as directed, exercising proper judgment and tact in dealing with people.
  • Assist maintenance staff with parking equipment and facility upkeep, including inspecting lots for maintenance issues and repairing parking meters.
  • Collect and secure parking revenues and fees, using pay-on-foot technology and other means.
  • Support event staff with parking activities, including setting up for events, traffic control, and lot usage control.
  • Assist office staff with permit sales during peak seasons, providing frontline customer service and data entry.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of geography and hazards in the enforcement area.
  • Ability to use a handheld computer and operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
  • Ability to understand and apply parking regulations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and walk for extended periods.
