Job Description

Product Development Specialist

This position plays a crucial role in driving innovation and growth at FoodPharma by assisting in the development of new formulations for our FoodPharma and customer products. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the innovative formulation for commercialization of new products, quality improvement of existing products, process improvements, and finished goods while maintaining compliance to regulatory and 3rd party certified bodies regulations and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of innovative products that meet the requirements of the company, customers, and regulatory bodies and 3rd party certifiers.
  • Prepare documentation for weighing and mixing of bench top studies as directed by the Master Formulator or R&D Manager.
  • Track and document all formula changes chronologies.
  • Assist in the sensory and organoleptic evaluation of R&D lab bench studies and if required daily batch evaluation.
  • Collaborate with R&D Manager and Product Development and Process Manager to ensure product development and technical transfers are completed within the project timelines.
  • Oversee the transfer of new innovative products in production. Provide feedback to R&D Manager and Product Development and Process Manager.
  • Support a collaborative environment and teamwork in meeting organizational goals.
  • Formulate and work with Genesis program to create Nutrition Facts panels and Supplement Facts panels.
  • Inventory and organization of lab samples and supplies.
  • Provide insight and advice on ingredients that would contribute flavor and nutrition to various dietary supplement products.
  • Conduct shelf-life studies.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related fields preferred.
  • 3+ years related work experience.
  • Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal, communication, and written skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Result-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
