Refresh Food is seeking a skilled Pastry Decorator to enhance our bakery offerings. As a Pastry Decorator, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing designs on our specialty bakery goods, ensuring a positive company image by providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and sanitary working environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute creative designs for cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
- Assist with the production of mandatory bakery products, such as parfaits, bars, and cupcakes.
- Produce in-house products to daily par levels, as specified on production sheets.
- Complete production and spoilage records, adjusting production sheets to maintain sufficient product.
- Prepare, package, weigh, and price bakery products for sale.
- Monitor product quality for freshness and ensure proper product rotation.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing needs in a timely and effective manner.
- Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
- Follow established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
- Thorough product knowledge.
- Ability to follow directions and established procedures.
- Good cake decorating skills, including making flowers and decorative borders, and knowledge of elegant piping techniques.
- Basic math skills for recipe conversions and modifications.
- Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- 6-12 months retail experience.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
